Meet The Eye Doctors and Staff At Oakland Optometry

Mark Roy

Dr. Mark J. Roy established his private practice in Oakland Township after practicing more than 20 years in Oakland County. Opening Oakland Optometry offered him the opportunity to provide comprehensive medical eyecare treatment in a state-of-the-art office and in his own community. He loves meeting neighbors and friends right in his office. 

Dr. Roy graduated in 1987 from the Michigan College of Optometry. He graduated with distinction, ranking among the top ten students in his class.

He is trained and licensed to use diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceuticals for the treatment of various eye conditions. ​​Many of Dr. Roy's patients have been seen by him since their first eye exam as children.  They are now graduating, getting glasses for college, or starting their own families!

Dr. Roy specializes in managing glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, eye infections, ocular allergies, dry eyes, children visual assessments and contact lenses.

Giving back to the community is a passion of Dr. Roy's and Oakland Optometry is involved in several area nonprofits giving of time and resources to schools, churches and community events. When he's not at the office, Dr. Roy currently resides in Rochester Hills with his wife. In his spare time, he enjoys fly-fishing and travel.

Jack Roy
Dr. Jack Roy is a dedicated and experienced optometrist proudly serving the Rochester Hills community through Oakland Optometry—a practice with deep family roots and a strong commitment to patient-centered care. He blends clinical precision with a warm, approachable style, ensuring every visit is both thorough and comfortable.
 
Dr. Roy earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his Doctor of Optometry from the New England College of Optometry. In addition to his work at Oakland Optometry, he holds a statewide leadership role within a national eye care organization, where he supports clinical quality, doctor development, and patient experience across 12 offices.
 
He brings that broad clinical and leadership experience directly into Oakland Optometry—combining advanced diagnostic technology with a personalized approach focused on accuracy and comfort. Dr. Roy is deeply passionate about helping his patients see the world as clearly as possible, and he takes pride in delivering precise, reliable care that enhances every aspect of their vision.
 
Outside the office, Dr. Roy enjoys cooking (especially baking fresh bread and making homemade ice cream), gaming, fishing, and spending time with his wife, Isabella, and their Portuguese Water Dog, Penny.
Sarah Krause

Dr. Sarah Krause is from Chesterfield, MI. She attended Lyman Briggs College as part of Michigan State University and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Physiology. During her junior year of college, she developed an interest in optometry and was active in her college’s pre-optometry club. In 2015, she graduated with her OD degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry as part of Salus University. 

Her interests include children's vision care, binocular vision and vision therapy, and treating and co-managing ocular diseases. Dr. Sarah Krause looks forward to providing the most compassionate care to you, your family and your friends.

Dr. Krause is an active member of the American Optometric Association. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her loving husband Nathan, their dog Suzy and their two bright and adventurous girls, Gabriella and Ruby. She also enjoys shopping and visiting with her other family and friends. Tennis is one her favorite ways to stay active so she can indulge in the baked goods that she also loves to bake.
